Privacy Policy
How Ocean States Public Adjusters collects, uses and protects your information.
Effective date: October 26, 2026
Ocean States Public Adjusters ("Ocean States," "we," "us" or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through our website, phone calls, email and text messages, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using www.oceanstates.net or communicating with us, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, including:
- Contact information — your name, phone number, email address and mailing or property address when you call us, email us, book a phone consultation or send us claim documents.
- Claim information — details about your insurance policy, your property, your damage and your claim, including photos, estimates and correspondence from your insurance company.
- Communications — the content of phone calls, voicemails, emails and text messages you exchange with us.
We also collect limited technical information automatically when you visit our website, such as your browser type, device type and pages viewed, through standard web server logs and analytics tools.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries and schedule consultations;
- Evaluate, document, negotiate and settle your property insurance claim;
- Communicate with you by phone, email and text message about your claim and our services;
- Meet our legal, licensing and regulatory obligations as licensed public adjusters in Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas;
- Operate, maintain and improve our website and services.
SMS / text messaging terms
You receive text messages (SMS/MMS) from Ocean States Public Adjusters only if you give us express consent — for example, by checking the SMS consent box on a form on our website or otherwise providing express written consent. Providing your phone number alone does not constitute consent to receive text messages and does not enroll you in our texting program. With your consent, messages may include texts related to your inquiry, your property insurance claim, appointment and consultation scheduling, and the claim services we offer for residential, commercial and church property, including appointment reminders, claim status updates, requests for documents and follow-up messages. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services. Full program terms are in our SMS Terms & Conditions.
- Message frequency may vary depending on your claim activity.
- Message and data rates may apply based on your mobile carrier plan.
- To opt out at any time, reply STOP to any message from us. You will receive a final confirmation message, and no further texts will be sent unless you opt back in.
- For help, reply HELP to any message, call us at 844.975.2100, or email claims@oceanstates.net.
SMS consent is not shared with third parties. No mobile information or text message consent will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the text messaging services necessary to deliver the messages you have asked to receive.
How we share information
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only:
- To work your claim — with your insurance company, its adjusters and representatives, and with appraisers, engineers, contractors, attorneys or other professionals involved in your claim, as needed and as you authorize;
- With service providers — companies that help us operate, such as our phone and text messaging provider, email provider, scheduling service and website host, who may process information only to provide those services to us;
- As required by law — to comply with a law, regulation, subpoena, court order or request from an insurance regulator, or to protect our legal rights.
As stated above, your mobile phone number, opt-in data and text message consent are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Cookies and analytics
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies, including basic analytics, to understand how visitors use the site and to improve it. You can set your browser to refuse cookies; the site will still work. Third-party services linked from our site (such as our scheduling calendar) have their own privacy policies.
Data security and retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your information. We retain claim files and related communications as long as needed to serve you and to meet our legal, licensing and record-keeping obligations, then dispose of them securely. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
- You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP.
- You may ask us to correct or update your contact information at any time.
- You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, by contacting us below.
