These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of www.oceanstates.net and the information and forms on it. By using this website or contacting us through it, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Who we are

Ocean States Public Adjusters ("Ocean States," "we," "us" or "our") is a property insurance claim consulting firm based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We are licensed public adjusters in Louisiana (license #1100089), Mississippi (license #15057528) and Texas (license #20979104), and we work as licensed insurance consultants and damage consultants for homeowners, businesses and houses of worship. We represent policyholders. We do not represent insurance companies.

This website is information, not a contract for services

Nothing on this website creates a public adjusting, consulting or other professional relationship between you and Ocean States. We represent a policyholder only after both sides sign a written contract that complies with the public adjuster laws of the state where the property is located. Until that contract is signed, we are not acting on your claim.

No legal advice and no guaranteed outcome

We are licensed public adjusters and insurance consultants, not attorneys, and nothing on this site or in our communications is legal advice. We do not provide legal representation. Insurance claim outcomes depend on the terms of your policy, the facts of your loss and applicable law. Nothing on this site is a promise, guarantee or prediction of any particular result, payment amount or timeline. Examples, descriptions of past work and general explanations of the claim process are for information only.

Communications and consent

When you call us, email us, submit a form on this site or book a consultation, you agree that we may contact you by phone, voicemail and email about your inquiry and your claim.

Text messages

We send text messages (SMS/MMS) only to people who give express consent, for example by checking the optional SMS consent box on a form on this website or by giving us express written consent another way. Providing your phone number alone does not enroll you in text messages. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.

With your consent, messages may include recurring automated marketing and informational texts about your property insurance claim, appointment and consultation scheduling, and the claim services we offer for residential, commercial and church property. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply from your carrier. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for assistance. Your mobile opt-in data and text message consent are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.

Information you send us

Please do not send confidential or sensitive material through this website before we have a signed contract. Information submitted through a web form or email travels over the internet and is not guaranteed to be secure or confidential. You confirm that the information you give us is accurate and that you have the right to share any documents, photos or policy information you send.

Using this website

You may view, print and download pages from this site for your own, non-commercial use in connection with your property or your claim. You may not copy, republish, scrape, resell or use this site's content to build a competing service, and you may not use the site in any way that is unlawful or that interferes with its operation or security.

Intellectual property

The text, page design, logos and marks on this site are owned by Ocean States or used with permission, and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Photographs are licensed stock images or are used under their own licenses as credited in the site footer. Nothing on this site grants you a license to use our name or logo.

This site links to services we do not control, including our online scheduling calendar and our website host. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Ocean States and its owners, employees and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any lost profits or lost claim proceeds, arising out of your use of this website or your reliance on its content. This section does not limit any obligation we owe you under a signed public adjusting contract, and it does not limit any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute about this website or these Terms will be brought in the state or federal courts serving East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana. A signed public adjusting contract may contain its own governing law and dispute terms, which control for the work under that contract.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page with its effective date, and it applies to your use of the site from the date it is posted.
